Ms Janet Ang

Chairman, SISTIC; Independent Director, Bank of the Philippine Islands; and other directorships

Ms Janet Ang is Chairman of SISTIC.com, Public Transport Council, NUS Institute of Systems Science, and the Singapore Polytechnic Board of Governance and Singapore Business Federation Foundation. She is also an Independent Director of Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), and Board Member of The Esplanade Company Ltd, Home Team Science & Technology Agency, Singapore Business Federation, Tanoto Foundation, Cenacle Mission (Singapore) and Philanthropy Asia Alliance Limited. In addition, she is Singapore’s Non-Resident Ambassador to the Holy See.

Previously, she was an Independent Director of SPH (2014-2022), the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Caritas Agape Fund (2019-2022), and a member of NUS Alumni Advisory Board (2012-2022), and a former Nominated MP of the Parliament of Singapore (2021-2023).

She had a thirty-seven year career in the information technology industry and had lived and worked in Japan and China over a span of eleven years. She was Managing Director of IBM Singapore from 2001 to 2003 and again from 2011-2015. Her last executive role was as IBM Vice President, Industry Solutions, IBM Asia Pacific. Janet was awarded The Public Service Medal in 2019, the Singapore Computer Society IT Leaders Award – Hall of Fame in 2018, the NUS Distinguished Alumni Service Award in 2015, the NUS Business School Eminent Alumni Award in 2014 and most recently, the NUS Outstanding Service Award 2021.
