DAC, together with EuroCham, SGX and 30% Club, supported OMFIF’s launch of the 2018 edition of its Gender Balance Index (GBI) in Singapore. The index, launched in London on the same day, tracks the presence of men and women in senior positions of public financial institutions globally, weighted by seniority. The 2018 edition of the Gender Balance Index includes central banks, sovereign funds and public pension funds.
Speakers at the launch included:
- Jan Bellens, Global Emerging Markets Leader & Asia Leader, EY
- Fatouma Ibrahima, Acting Director of the Singapore Infrastructure & Urban Development Hub, World Bank
- Yaseen Anwar, Senior Advisor, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC)
- Flora Chao, Senior Financial Officer, International Finance Corporation
GBI 2018’s results reveal that there is still significant gender imbalance, particularly in G20 countries, with only two of their central banks in the top 20 ranking. Download the full report from OMFIF here.
Moderator: Adam Cotter, OMFIF’s head of Asia. Panelists: Yaseen Anwar, Flora Chao, Jan Bellens, Fatouma Ibrahima
